7 Ways to Amplify a Connection with your Angels and Spirit Guides
The Holidays can be fun filled and overwhelming. Grounding yourself and scheduling peaceful moments in your day can save you anxiety and stress. Heart attacks and other cardiac problems spike during the holidays. Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, and Tufts University School of Medicine examined 53 million U.S. deaths from 1973 to 2001. finding an overall increase of heart related deaths during the holiday season. So if you are feeling a bit overwhelmed and generally crabby, consider taking a few minutes to center and breath. Find a quiet setting where you can relax and rejuvenate. The Centered Breath Exercise is high lighted in the first chapter of my book, Angel Decoding -Secret Keys to Communicating with your Angels. Enjoy the quiet and stay healthy for a wonderful New Year! 2014 looks to be fabulous.
Centered-Breath Exercise
Find a quiet space free of distractions where you can sit erect or lie flat on your back. Rest your arms and hands comfortably on your lap or, if you are lying down, alongside your body. If you are sitting in a chair, close your eyes, plant both feet flat on the floor, and imagine you are firmly grounded by Mother Earth.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and slowly count to four. At the same time, quiet your mind and allow yourself to be present and clear. Then exhale through your mouth, letting go of any stress and filling your heart center with love. Release any distracting mind chatter and focus instead on creating a sacred space within.
Continue taking these deep, cleansing breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth, inhaling and exhaling to the count of four. Focus on filling your lungs with life-giving oxygen while relaxing or softening the abdominal area so that you naturally extend your stomach as your diaphragm expands. This is called diaphragmatic breathing. Remember the breathing of little children, the way each breath fills them down to their tummies. Let your shoulders relax, let your arms and hands relax, and allow the stress to ooze out as you exhale.
Your work from this point forward is to breathe in and out smoothly, evenly, quietly, and deeply. Inhaling through the nose is healthier and more cleansing because your nose is a natural air filter. If your nose is stuffy, go ahead and breathe through your mouth as needed. Keep a steady pace of breathing as you empty your mind of intruding thoughts for a few moments.
Imagine the energy source surrounding you, holding you in a perfect space: aligned, clear, focused, safe, and supported. Be open to that place of pure intent, to that place of infinite attention to our divine parent. Truly experience your authentic self. Allow the thinking mind to step away, holding space for your pure essence.
In order to benefit from stress relief and the centering of your soul, you may need to incorporate a training strategy that allows your mind to go into a passive zone. Find a haven as you continue breathing peacefully. This is where you want to go for ten minutes. It is wonderful to give yourself permission to tune in to a tranquil silence. This is both healthy and often necessary for spiritual connection.
Blessings and love,
Maria
