Give Peace a Chance

It is now time for peace. It is time for each of us to heal our wounds and see that the struggle that exists in our world can start healing with each one of us. When we can each see that our neighbor needs love and we can reach out with love, then we will be healed. What does this mean? We need to drop our defenses, and work from a common goal of truly accepting another individual without judgment, or greed. Start at home; move to the next-door neighbor and right on into the next county, state, and country.

Perhaps if our “enemy” can feel our love they will feel safe and drop their weapons. Perhaps they have not experienced this non-judgmental and loving connection “ever” in their lives and need this experience to create a change of heart and mind. Perhaps we have never experienced such a love? This is not wishful thinking this is a “do or die” call to awareness. We have to stop blaming and begin to see that we are all responsible for the mess that our world is in. To stop the mess we must begin to clear our minds of blame and judgment. We are responsible, and we can create the world that we want.

Up to this point, we have created what we wanted: “The land of the beautiful and home of the brave.” We are a world power, we are a blend of every nation in our world, and we are at war. Is there a better America ahead? I say yes! But we must begin to see that as a world power we can lead by example and begin to use new innovative methods of peace building. We can use the power of the mind to think ourselves right out of this mess and take action in peace. Gandhi worked miracles through peaceful measures and he was one man. Certainly as a nation housing incredible individuals of high cognitive ability and capable of great love we can persevere and begin a time of peace.

Do we really need to march into another’s back yard and point fingers and reorganize their ciaos?  Only if we walk in shaking hands and are welcomed. Welcome means that all sides perceive that to meet and walk together is for the highest good. We must avoid the trap of seeing the “good” that we do and feeling under appreciated; If we are to do “good” by another, than we need to see that all sides benefit and all sides agree in the way that the benefit is shared.  It is my belief that man fairs better when using good communication skills rather than his brawn. We teach these skills in kindergarten classrooms in our country. All I Ever Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, written by Robert Fulghum. Following is the main point of his book:

“These are the things I learned: Share everything. Play fair. Don’t hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don’t take things that aren’t yours. Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life. Learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work some every day.

Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch for traffic, hold hands, and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the plastic cup. The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the plastic cup – they all die. So do we.”

We are all connected and must learn to come to a point of peace through the use of higher intelligence not threats and bombings. When we kill someone, when we war with others, we are hurting our own. It is a time for peace. See peace, walk peace, feel peace, and know peace. We are all responsible for the past and can change the future creating the best Universe ever. This will come to be when more of us make a conscious shift to know that we are all connected by our creator and therefore we naturally love each other. Why would I want to kill my brother? Rather, I see that he is me and that we should share and play fair. This may take a little while, but it is a time for peace.  Let it begin…
